she fought for the rights of victims of violent crimes and for the victims of employment and housing discrimination.

 Melissa can never be replaced.  However, if we as professionals carry on her mission and her model of professionalism, then the profession as a whole will only improve.

Melissa earned the respect of not only her co-workers, partners, and associates, but of her opposing counsel as well.  Her ability and candor before the court also earned her the respect of the Bench.  
 
Even though she was a tough litigator, her adversaries always commented how it was a pleasure to litigate with Melissa as she epitomized excellence and professionalism.
 
Her dedication to her clients and to her community will be missed.  As a member of Leadership Broward and the Broward County Human Rights Board,
